Membership

What are the KBA Institute membership qualifications?
Membership is open to banking professionals with relevant qualifications. Visit the Membership Categories page for detailed requirements for each category.
How do I register for membership?
Registration is done online through our portal. Select 'Apply Now', complete the multi-step application form, upload required documents, and submit for review.
What are the benefits of being a member?
Members enjoy professional recognition, CPD access, networking opportunities, career growth support, global standards alignment, and access to learning resources.
What is required to maintain good standing?
Members must maintain ethical standards, accumulate a minimum of 40 CPD hours annually, and pay their subscription fees on time.
How do I exit from membership?
Submit an exit request through the portal. You may also be exited for non-compliance with obligations over a sustained period.
How do I confirm someone is a member?
Use the 'Find a Member' tool on our website to verify membership status by member number.

CPD Programmes

What are CPD programmes?
CPD (Continuing Professional Development) programmes are learning activities that members engage in to maintain and enhance their professional competency.
How many CPD hours do I need annually?
A minimum of 40 CPD hours per year: at least 25 structured and 15 unstructured hours.
What counts as structured CPD?
Events attended with certificates: seminars, conferences, workshops, mandatory trainings, and certified online courses.
What counts as unstructured CPD?
Self-directed learning: reading professional materials, writing articles, mentoring, research, and similar activities.
How do I log my CPD hours?
Log in to your member portal, navigate to the CPD section, and record both structured and unstructured hours. KBAI-hosted events are logged automatically.
How do I book for a CPD event?
Visit the Events & CPD page, select the event you wish to attend, and complete the booking and payment process.

Payments & Billing

What payment methods are accepted?
We accept credit/debit cards, bank transfers, and mobile money (M-Pesa) through our secure Paystack payment gateway.
How do I get a refund?
Contact support at kbainstitute@kba.co.ke with your invoice reference for refund requests where applicable.
Can my employer pay on my behalf?
Yes. Corporate members and partner banks can sponsor staff membership fees through bulk invoicing.
How do I access my invoice?
Invoices are available in your member portal under the billing section. You can download PDF copies at any time.
When are renewal fees due?
Annual renewal fees are due on your membership anniversary date. You will receive reminders 90, 60, and 30 days before the due date.

Technical Support

I cannot log into the portal
Try resetting your password using the 'Forgot Password' link. If the issue persists, contact support.
How do I update my profile?
Log in to your portal, navigate to the Profile section, and update your details. Some changes may require document verification.
Is the portal mobile-friendly?
Yes. The portal is designed to work seamlessly on mobile phones, tablets, and desktop computers.
